Focus and Scope
Journal of Local Wisdom in Education (JLWE) focuses on scholarly studies that investigate the educational significance of local wisdom as a source of knowledge, value, pedagogy, and social practice. The journal is particularly interested in manuscripts that position local wisdom not as a peripheral illustration, but as a substantive framework for understanding and transforming education.
JLWE publishes articles that make a clear contribution to educational scholarship by examining how culturally rooted knowledge systems, indigenous epistemologies, communal values, and local traditions shape educational processes in formal, non-formal, and informal settings. The journal especially welcomes theoretically informed and methodologically robust studies that connect local educational realities with broader academic and policy discussions.
The scope of JLWE includes the following areas:
- Local Wisdom as a Foundation of Educational Knowledge
- Pedagogy and Learning Practices Rooted in Local Culture
- Character, Ethics, and Citizenship Education through Local Wisdom
- Intergenerational and Community-Based Learning
- Critical and Comparative Studies on Local Wisdom in Education
JLWE welcomes original research articles, review articles, and conceptual studies that demonstrate clear relevance to educational theory, policy, or practice. Manuscripts that are purely descriptive, insufficiently analytical, or weakly connected to educational inquiry are not considered within the primary scope of the journal.
